Within only four days we will have the general elections in Germany. And the opinion polls seem still to be  very steady since quite some time - despite the recent dramatic political events on the world scene, incl. very improper American interference into the German election campaign.

The CDU seems to get 30-32 %. The AfD 20-22 %. SPD 14-16 %. The Greens 14 %. And the left-wing Die Linke 6-7 %  ( which is a surprise ).  The other parties will probably not get the necessary 5 % votes to get into Parliament.

Therefore, the probably coation negotiatins for a new government will take place between CDU, SPD and the Greens.

There is no obvious sign that AfD has received money from Elon Musk. And there is no sign either that the recent terrorist attacks have been stimulated and coordinated f.ex. from Russia.

CANADA - AND TRUMP's TARIFF WAR

  Canada's flag I just want to tell you that our Canadian friends in Toronto have told us that the fight in Canada against Trump and his tariffs is in full swing - and is becoming more and more active. A popular movement has been created called: ELBOWS UP! On April 28th there will be a general election in the country. The new Liberal Prime Minister, Mark Carney, (former head of the Bank of Canada AND also former head of the Bank of England in London) is up against the second largest party, the Conservatives. Before Trump, the Conservatives were leading by a large margin. Now it seems to be on the balance.. The Canadian Conservatives are a long way along the line with Trump on many issues.

GREENLAND - CRUCIAL NEGOTIATIONS TODAY

Today, the Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers are to meet with the US vice president and secretary of state in Washington. The meeting is taking place at the Danish-Greenlandic request. Here, the Danish-Greenlandic side will be very open to even closer cooperation with the Americans on security and on the exploitation of minerals. But they will NOT accept any form of American takeover of Greenland. Out of the question! In this position, Denmark-Greenland has the full support of the EU, Canada, the Nordic countries, and indeed most of the world. At the same time, work is being done to get a multinational military force to Greenland - to better defend the Arctic. And several countries will establish consulates in Nuuk. Canada did so last week. France will open its next month. And there will probably be more.
