HUNGARY: The run-up to the parliamentary elections on April 12, 2026 The coming Hungarian elections are very important not only for Hungary, but for Europe. The opposition run by the former Orbán ally, Peter Magyar ( now also a member of the European Parliament, EPP group ) is for the time being leading in an average of opinion polls. He and his allies are 14 % ahead of Orbán. The lead has been confirmed during a longer period.
